About the role
The Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital (RBWH) Occupational Therapy Service aims to apply research and evidence in daily practice to maximise patient outcomes. Occupational Therapy services work collaboratively with health care consumers, internal and external stakeholders through local and service-wide networks.
The purpose of this role is to support patient care by assisting with clinical tasks that enable the effective, efficient, and confidential delivery of therapy services under the direction and supervision of designated occupational therapy staff. The position will provide environmental maintenance of the specific work areas within the Occupational Therapy service, RBWH.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Assist in the provision of treatment to patients by providing a defined range of clinical tasks, as delegated by the occupational therapists.
- Manufacture and modify assistive, custom made, personal medical devices (compression garments) through machine sewn and/ or alteration of ready to wear interim compression garments.
- Assist occupational therapists with facilitation of group therapy sessions, including providing feedback on individual and group performance.
- Provide advice and reinforce education on a defined range of topics to patients or groups of patients.
