We're excited to welcome a Social Work Senior to our Acute, Emergency and Geriatrics team at Nambour General Hospital.
The social work senior provides high‑level, autonomous social work services across the Emergency Department, Medical Wards, and Acute and Restorative Care at Nambour General Hospital. The role delivers advanced psychosocial assessments, evidence‑based therapeutic interventions, and complex discharge planning for patients experiencing acute illness, chronic and complex medical conditions, psychosocial crisis or age‑related health concerns. This is a temporary six‑month position with the possibility of extension.
As a highly functioning multidisciplinary team member, deliver high level Social Work clinical services and leadership across one or more specific work units, to stakeholders/customers of the Sunshine Coast Hospital Health and Queensland Health (SCH).

Key Responsibilities include:
- Provide leadership oversight and clinical practice supervision to less experienced social work practitioners and students as delegated.
- Adhere to relevant expectations outlined in the SCH and Allied Health Governance Framework documents and Business Rules to ensure that best patient outcomes are achieved in a transparent, ethical and accountable manner.
- Communicate effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team to influence the culture towards a common, patient-centred vision and direction.
- Take a leadership role in the monitoring of professional clinical standards and outcomes, service improvement activities, Performance and Development Plans (PDP), quality activities, evidence-based practice, clinical research programs.
Remuneration value up to $13 113 p.m., comprising salary between $4912.70 - $5286.40 p.f., employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (HP4) (Fixed Term Temporary Full-time position available, up to 6 months).
