What we offer; 

Fulltime Base salary up to $274 678 p.a. (L25 – L27) or $251 642 p.a. (L18 – L24)

Medical Managers Allowance 9 or Clinical Managers Allowance 7 in lieu

Professional development allowance

Purpose of the role

As the Chief Medical Officer for Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service you play a pivotal role as a member of the Executive Management Team, influencing and driving the strategic direction of our health service. You will provide leadership and expert advice on clinical governance, medical workforce and progressional medical matters. This role overseas both the strategic and operational delivery of the portfolio, ensuring high standards of clinical excellence and supporting the advancement of our medical workforce.

Your opportunity

In this role, you will work closely with the Executive Team and clinical leaders to drive the delivery of patient-centred, high-quality, value-based healthcare across the diverse communities of the Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service. You will play a key role in shaping CHHHS-wide priorities and contribute to strategic decision-making that enhances service outcomes for our communities.

Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) evidence as required for your employment in accordance with legislation/government policy and Directives.
