What your day could look like
As Clinical Facilitator Midwifery, you'll strengthen capability at the point of care—building skills, confidence and consistency so families receive safe, respectful, women‑centred care across our Southern Downs services.
Every day, you'll contribute by:
- Lifting practice through bedside coaching, targeted upskilling and timely feedback that turns learning into safer outcomes.
- Guiding competency assessment and orientation, ensuring scope of practice is clear and standards are consistently met.
- Partnering with the Midwifery Educator and unit leaders to embed evidence, streamline processes and close quality gaps.
- Leading small improvement initiatives—using incidents, audits and reflection to reduce risk and elevate experience.
Let's Talk About You
You're a midwife who blends expertise with heart. You think critically, act with integrity and bring others with you—especially when change matters. You're proud of growing people from novice to confident practitioner, and of shaping systems that make care safer and more dignified for women, babies and families.
Here's what will help you thrive in this role:
- Registration as a Registered Midwife (AHPRA) with recent clinical practice.
- Proven ability to assess competence, coach for performance and deliver constructive feedback.
- Strong grasp of contemporary midwifery, clinical judgement and team‑based decision making.
- Working knowledge of safety and quality standards in maternity care and readiness to meet role‑specific health requirements.
You'll stand out from the crowd if you have rural/regional experience and/or postgraduate study in clinical education.
Above all, you'll bring the values we live by at Darling Downs Health: Compassion, Integrity, Dignity, Innovation and Courage.
Together, we'll grow capability, reduce risk and deliver care that reflects our values—every day.
