What your day could look like

As a Clinical Midwife, you'll be a trusted clinical leader for women and families, strengthening safe, connected care across our Dalby maternity service. From decisive action in complex moments to coaching others, you'll help the team deliver consistent, compassionate care close to home.
Every day, you'll contribute by:

  • Coordinating and delivering holistic care across pregnancy, birth and postnatal journeys, enabling timely, woman‑led decisions and clear plans.
  • Leading shift coordination and mentoring midwives and students to lift capability, teamwork and continuity.
  • Driving quality and safety by applying best evidence, monitoring outcomes and acting on learnings to reduce risk.
  • Championing culturally safe practice and strong partnerships with families, First Nations communities and our multidisciplinary team.

Let's talk about you!

You bring calm leadership, curiosity and courage. You think critically, communicate with warmth, and advocate for what matters to women—even when it's hard. You'll feel proud as your guidance builds team confidence and your care creates moments of dignity for every family.
Here's what will help you thrive in this role:

  • Registered Midwife with current authority to practise.
  • Advanced clinical judgement and coordination skills in maternity settings.
  • Skilled communicator who collaborates across disciplines and supports learners.
  • Knowledge of the standards and quality systems that underpin safe services.
  • Ability to work a 24/7 roster (including on‑call) and a valid driver's licence.
You'll stand out if you have postgraduate study (e.g., midwifery/leadership) and/or rural maternity experience.

Together, we'll deliver safer births and stronger beginnings—guided by Compassion, Integrity, Dignity, Innovation and Courage.
