Your new role:
As a Senior Medical Officer in the Minor Injury and Illness Clinics, you will deliver high-quality urgent care to patients by:
- Assessing and treating walk-in patients with minor injuries and illnesses
- Performing procedures such as suturing, slit lamp examinations, foreign body removal, incision and drainage of abscesses, and management of uncomplicated fractures
- Identifying patients requiring escalation and facilitating referral to the appropriate Emergency Department
- Working alongside Nurse Practitioners, Emergency Physiotherapists and Registered Nurses to deliver coordinated patient care
- Providing clinical supervision and teaching to junior medical staff and students
- Contributing to patient safety, quality improvement and service development initiatives
About you:
You are a collaborative and patient-focused clinician who thrives in a fast-paced urgent care environment with:
- Specialist Medical Registration, or eligibility, with AHPRA in General Practice or Emergency Medicine
- Experience delivering high-quality clinical care in urgent care, emergency or acute settings
- Strong procedural skills in managing minor injuries and illnesses
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- A commitment to clinical teaching, professional development and continuous improvement
- Experience in paediatric care or urgent care/emergency settings (highly regarded)

About us:
Meadowbrook Health Centre:
Meadowbrook Health Centre will provide a new Minor Injury and Illness Clinic and a Women's Health Outpatient Clinic.The Minor Injury and Illness Clinic will offer free, walk-in treatment for conditions not anticipated to be life-threatening. It will operate from 8am to 10pm, seven days a week, and is designed to help take pressure off Logan Hospital's emergency department for patients who do not require care in an acute hospital setting.
The Women's Health Outpatient Centre will provide a contemporary and convenient facility for local women attending antenatal and gynaecological appointments and tests.
Eight Mile Plains Satellite Health Centre, Maroo-goodji-ba:
The satellite health centre is also known as Maroo-goodji-ba, a name chosen by the community and local Traditional Owners and Elders means ‘peace, wellbeing and place of red earth' in the Yagarabul language.
The satellite health centre treats minor illnesses and injuries that aren't life-threatening and also have a range of specialist services, including kidney dialysis, cancer day therapy and mental, allied health and outpatient services.
