About Your Role
As the Senior Coding Quality Coordinator, you will lead and coordinate the Coding Quality Program at Logan Hospital and contribute to initiatives across Metro South Health.
Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinate the Coding Quality Program including auditing, education and clinical liaison activities
- Plan and lead coding audits and provide feedback to coders, auditors and educators
- Identify training needs and deliver education and mentoring to clinical coding staff
- Provide expert advice to clinicians on documentation requirements for accurate coding and DRG allocation
- Support and promote the Coding Query process between clinicians and coding staff
About You
You are an experienced clinical coding professional with strong technical expertise and a passion for quality improvement and education.
You will demonstrate:
- Advanced clinical coding knowledge using ICD-10-AM, ACHI and ACS
- Extensive experience in clinical coding, auditing or coding quality improvement
- Strong ability to analyse coding data and identify improvement opportunities
- Proven experience delivering training, education or mentoring to coding staff
- Proficiency with coding and health information systems including 3M Codefinder and Microsoft Office
