Your new role:
In this leadership role, you will coordinate maintenance operations and lead a multi-skilled team to ensure health facility infrastructure and assets are safe, compliant and operating efficiently.
- Lead, supervise and coordinate internal trades, apprentices, assistants and contractors delivering planned and reactive maintenance across plant, infrastructure and equipment.
- Ensure assets are compliant with statutory requirements, codes and Queensland Health policies through effective testing, maintenance and asset management practices.
- Provide expert advice on asset condition, maintenance strategies and infrastructure planning in collaboration with facility stakeholders.
- Manage contractor performance, LOTO processes, compliance registers and operational systems to support safe, efficient service delivery.
- Drive team performance, safety culture and continuous improvement initiatives while supporting operational planning and on-call maintenance coverage.
About you:
You are a skilled maintenance leader who can guide teams, manage complex assets and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver safe, reliable facility operations.
- Experienced leader of multi-disciplinary trades teams in complex environments such as hospitals, large facilities or critical infrastructure.
- Strong communicator with the ability to build relationships and influence diverse internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated knowledge of asset management, maintenance planning, compliance requirements and risk management.
- Technically skilled in a building trade discipline (e.g., plumbing, carpentry, painting or similar) with experience overseeing plant and equipment maintenance.
- Committed to safety, continuous improvement and delivering high-quality, cost-effective maintenance services in a busy public sector environment.

About the Assets and Infrastructure Division
Metro South Maintenance Services are the incumbent maintenance provider for Metro South Health Hospitals and Health Service (MSH) Facilities, with the primary objective to manage the corrective and preventative maintenance for all MSH infrastructure and facilities. Metro South's asset management objectives define the approach for delivering maintenance outcomes and the role of Maintenance management in supporting the achievement of the organisational objectives.
