About us:
CQMHAODS provides specialist mental health, substance and alcohol related care to residents of Rockhampton, Capricorn Coast, Gladstone, Central Highlands and Banana areas (catchments in excess of a population of 250,000) with services located in each area.
Rockhampton is the principal service centre and as such provides the administration of the Mental Health Act, 2016, and is the location of the acute adult services including the Acute Care Team and inpatient facilities. In addition, there is an Adult Step Up, Step Down facility located in Gladstone and an Adult Community Care Unit located in Rockhampton.

About the role:
- The Mental Health Clinician uses discipline specific clinical skills to deliver high quality specialist mental health care to consumers with mental illness or serious mental health problems and their families, in keeping with professional national and state requirements.
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with the interdisciplinary team, external referral sources, consumers and carers to promote consumer focus and involvement that meets the National Standards for Mental Health Services.
- Provide a clinical service to consumers, families and carers and the wider community using evidence- based practice, to ensure a high standard of mental health care.
- Work flexibly, collaboratively, efficiency and effectively within the team and with consumers, carers and other stakeholders, in order to promote consumer recovery.
- Assesses plans, implements and evaluates comprehensive care for consumers in accordance with professional standards and best practice.
- Undertakes independent practice within the service professional guidelines.
- Demonstrates a personal commitment to professional development and quality improvement within the integrated mental health service.
About you:
Hold qualifications and registration with the appropriate registration authority to practice in any of the following:
- Occupational Therapy
- Psychology
- Social Work
- Registered Nurse
While not mandatory, appointment as an Authorised Mental Health Practitioner under the Mental Health Act 2016 is highly desirable.
What we offer:
Total remuneration value of up to $135,857 p.a. is comprised of:
- An hourly rate between $56.08 - $60.05 p.h.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
- 17.5% leave loading
