About Us
Mental Health and Specialist Service provides a range of hospital community-based services aimed at promoting integrated, specialised care. The Mental health Hospital in the Home (HiTH) is a service that offers contemporary recovery orientated care and forms part of the Acute Inpatient service model.
HiTH provides an alternative to an inpatient hospital admission, which allows MHSS to offer a more person centred option to admission for mental health consumers within their home setting. HiTH acts as an alternative to inpatient hospital admission where the intensity and type of care provided in an admitted service is offered but allows for greater flexibility to meet the patient's preferences and facilitates maintenance of supports and links within the community.
