About the role

You will deliver advanced nursing care, clinical leadership, and specialised interventions within a harm‑minimisation framework. Working autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team, you'll support individuals and communities through evidence‑based assessment, treatment, education, and culturally responsive care.

  • Provide advanced clinical assessments, care planning, withdrawal coordination, and delivery of Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs Service programs including Opioid Dependence Treatment, Needle & Syringe Program, and Drug Diversion Programs.
  • Lead and support the nursing team through expert clinical decision‑making, coordination of care, and acting in leadership roles when required.
  • Contribute to service quality and safety through participation in clinical governance, risk minimisation, audit activities, and continuous improvement.

Working with us

    • For 1 year will get you an isolation bonus of AUD$3,605. If you stay for 2 years you will get AUD$10,815… and for your 3rd year (and every year after that) you will get AUD$7,210 (pro rata for part time employees).

In your downtime, we will provide 2 return airfares p.a. (full time employees) (inc. spouse/dependents) or 1 return airfare p.a. (part time employees) to the nearest east coast provincial city in conjunction with your recreation leave.

  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution.
  • Long Service Leave and Sick Leave accrual.
  • Tax savings through salary sacrificing options are also available.

 

Plus 2 weeks p.a., travel as required and enrolment and conference costs for approved courses and conferences.

We also offer staff accommodation (if eligible) or a private rental subsidy of AUD$82.50 per week for up to 17 months.

Requirements

  • Mandatory requirements are a relevant tertiary degree qualification and appropriate registration/licences.
  • C Class Motor Vehicle Licence.
  • Pre-employment screening will be conducted for the successful applicant, including Criminal History checks.
  • This is a VPD risk role and may require evidence of vaccination or immunity to: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis, and Tuberculosis.
  • A period of probation may apply.
