We're excited to welcome a Social Worker to our Rotating Leave Relief team within the Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service.

Experience within an emergency department, and across acute and sub-acute areas would be highly desirable. The successful candidate will be comfortable moving across sites and clinical teams to provide valuable support for staff on well-earned leave. This role requires a flexible and adaptable clinician who can quickly orient to new environments, build effective working relationships with multidisciplinary teams, and confidently manage psychosocial assessment, risk assessment, and discharge planning within fast-paced hospital settings. This position demands the ability to work autonomously and independently in their clinical practice with a high degree of sound critical reflection.

As a highly functioning multidisciplinary team member, we deliver high level Social Work clinical services across one or more specific work units, to stakeholders/customers of the Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service and Queensland Health (SCHHS).

Key Responsibilities include:

  • This position requires you to adhere to National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards and the Sunshine Coast Health Safe Care Framework, which has been developed in collaboration with staff, consumers and key stakeholders to enable our vision of health and wellbeing through person-centred care.
  • Demonstrate competent knowledge, expertise and skill in the provision of Social Work services commensurate with level of experience in accordance with prescribed professional and ethical standards, existing evidence-based practice and established clinical protocols. For complex or novel cases, you will seek direction from clinical seniors as appropriate.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation and patient records in line with Departmental, Unit and Health Service procedures, and contribute to the maintenance of accurate and timely information systems (statistics collection, quality data). Ensure that time spent across clinical and non-clinical work is in keeping with assigned requirements.
  • Participate in quality and service improvement activities to continually improve patient/client care, including the development of clinical practices, procedures and protocols within the work environment.

Remuneration value up to $11 047 p.m., comprising salary between $3030.00 - $4453.50 p.f. (f/t) or salary rates: $39.86 - $58.59 p.h. (p/t), employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (HP3) (temporary full 76hrs p.f. and part time 60.8hrs p.f. positions available until 5 July 2026).
