Experience the amazing lifestyle of our North Queensland region, whilst working as a key component of a diverse and skilled multidisciplinary team, delivering effective physiotherapy clinical services.  This position provides a great opportunity to demonstrate your skills across a varied inpatient and outpatient caseload, spanning the age and diagnostic continuum.

The successful applicant has the opportunity to work at one, or a number of our rural communities, including:  Ingham and/or Ayr and/or Charters Towers.

PLEASE NOTE - There are three individual casual vacancies, which are in the following locations - AYR  |  CHARTERS TOWERS  |  INGHAM

Locations

Ayr Health Service is a 28-bed facility located in the township of Ayr, in North Queensland. The Ayr Health Service offers general medical, surgical and obstetric services to Ayr, Home Hill and the broader Burdekin Shire.  

Charters Towers Health Service is a 25-bed facility providing integrated acute and primary health care services through a range of programs including: community, child, youth and family, mental health, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health and outreach services.

Ingham Health Service is a 28-bed inpatient facility with emergency and general surgical services.

Competitive salary and benefits:

We offer attractive remuneration packages and generous leave entitlements.

  • Salary range: $49.83 - $73.24 p.h. (casual rate) (HP3)
  • Locality allowance
  • 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation
  • Plus Salary Sacrificing options may be available

Requirements:

  • A tertiary degree (or equivalent) qualification in Physiotherapy from a recognised tertiary institution is considered mandatory for this position.
  • This position requires the incumbent to operate a “C” class vehicle, and an appropriate licence endorsement to operate this type of vehicle is require Proof of this endorsement must be provided before commencement of duty.

The ideal applicant will be someone who has proven ability and can demonstrate the following:

  • Demonstrated competent level of knowledge, expertise, and skill in physiotherapy clinical practice across multiple settings.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a clinical caseload under the clinical practice supervision of senior physiotherapists; and to assess increasingly complex patients and interpret assessment findings to develop and implement safe and effective routine physiotherapy interventions.
  • Demonstrated experience or the ability to rapidly acquire the skill to supervise assistant staff and contribute to the supervision of students on work experience or undergraduate clinical placement.
  • Effective communication skills and an ability to work cooperatively and effectively within the multi-professional team to deliver quality clinical services.
  • Understanding of the vital role and contribution that Allied Health have in the Rural Health setting.
