About us:
Gladstone Oncology Services aims to provide supportive and responsive services to all people affected by cancer inclusive of those that require access to palliative care for malignant diseases. Our service provides care for the Gladstone region with an approximate population of 60,000 people. The service incorporates the following:
- Chemotherapy Day Unit
- Medical Oncology Outreach Clinics
- Haematology Outreach Clinics
- Palliative Care
- Cancer Care Co-Ordination
- McGrath Breast Care Nurse
- Radiation Oncology
About the role:
The Nurse Practitioner Oncology (NPO) is a highly experienced Registered Nurse employed by Gladstone Hospital in an expanded/advanced practice role, who has also met the academic and clinical requirements for endorsement as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) as stipulated by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA).
The NPO is expected to practice, when endorsed, within the determined oncology specialty scope of practice under the legislatively protected title ‘Nurse Practitioner' and as guided by their level of experience and agreed medication formulary.
The NPO is a recognised clinical leader with advanced clinical skills and knowledge who provides specialist nursing care to oncology patients at the Gladstone Hospital.
About you:
- It is a mandatory requirement that the successful applicant has completed an NMBA-approved program of study or a program that is substantially equivalent to an NMBA-approved program of study as determined by the NMBA leading to endorsement as a Nurse Practitioner.
- Has a prescriber number +/- provider number.
- Demonstrate evidence of provision and of coordination of comprehensive contemporary person-centred care through advanced practice skills.
- Demonstrate advanced knowledge and application of continuous quality improvement principles in improving patient outcomes. Demonstrate advanced interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
- Proactively develop self and others through knowledge and application of the lifelong learning framework.
- Demonstrate evidence of leading innovation to address emerging needs in healthcare provision.
What we offer:
Total remuneration value of up to $183,132 p.a. is comprised of:
- An hourly rate between $77.53 - $80.095 p.h.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
- 17.5% leave loading
