The Clinical Midwife (Core) provides early clinical leadership within Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service, delivering woman‑centred care to a defined patient population in increasingly complex situations. The role supports and guides Registered Midwives and non‑registered staff, provides inpatient antenatal and postnatal care including birth suite backup, and works collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and MGP caseload midwives.Job details

About your role:
- Practice collaboratively and provide clinical leadership within the interdisciplinary health care team to promote the safety, security and personal integrity of women and their families.
- Provide clinical leadership for professional and clinical practice, education, and research in conjunction with the Maternity Unit Manager and Associate Maternity Unit Manager.
- Provide effective and efficient clinical care in the area of clinical specialty and work in collaboration with the Maternity Unit Manager and Associate Maternity Unit Manager to ensure the maintenance of safe standards and woman-centred care.
- Provide leadership in clinical decision making to give and/or coordinate care to women accessing midwifery services within the Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service, Innisfail under the Level 3 Clinical Services Capability Framework. Maternity services (health.qld.gov.au)
