About us:

The Theodore Multipurpose Health Service (MPHS) located 229km southwest of Rockhampton, is part of the Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service. Theodore is situated on the Leichhardt Highway between the junction of Castle Creek and the Dawson River.

The Theodore Multipurpose Health Service is a 10-bed facility that provides a range of health services to the community, including emergency, inpatients and outpatients, residential aged care, and telehealth services.

About the role:

  • Provide routine cleaning services in designated areas and the correct usage of cleaning products, stores, and equipment.
  • Daily washing, drying, and ironing of linen and resident clothing as required.
  • Assist in kitchen as required by cook, with cleaning, wash, food preparation and service.
  • Distribution of meal trays to clients, maintaining relevant standards for hygiene and infection control are followed.
  • Wash patient beds when vacated as directed.
  • Undertake general cleaning in and around the facility, as needed and directed including staff accommodation.

About you:

  • While not mandatory, a relevant qualification in Food Safety Standards would be well regarded.
  • Potential applicants are advised that the Aged Care Act 1997 requires Queensland Health employees and volunteers of aged care services (applicable areas only) to have a current National Police Certificate. Queensland Health will facilitate the applicants obtaining the above check.
  • Practical knowledge (or the ability to gain knowledge), experience or qualifications appropriate to the position e.g. patient care and cleaning duties - preferably within a hospital environment.
  • Well-developed negotiation, consultative and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to organise and prioritise work commitments and to meet work deadlines within a busy environment.

What we offer:

  • An hourly rate between $40.22 – $42.91 p.h. (including 25% casual loading)
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
