We are excited to offer to the best suited applicant a permanent fulltime role as Senior Scientist. The position will perform complex and highly specialised diagnostic testing as part of a statewide tertiary referral Haematology service and will perform discovery proteomic analysis utilising HPLC and tandem mass spectrometry to identify amyloid sub types. The role requires strong attention to detail, sound organisational skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a busy environment

Key competencies (role specific criteria)
You will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate the following:
- Demonstrated high level knowledge, skills and experience in Discovery Proteomics analysis utilising HPLC and tandem mass spectrophotometry.
- Demonstrated high level skill using analysis software such as Spectrum Mill.
- Demonstrated ability to plan and perform validation work to achieve NATA accreditation.
- Demonstrated ability to work with high level of independence and demonstrate initiative in problem solving and innovative solutions.
- Demonstrated well developed interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively as a member of a team and communicate effectively with clients, clinical staff and colleagues.
- Demonstrated ability to train and educate staff within the section.
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to the quality and service improvement activities in accordance with NATA/ISO accreditation/certification and NPAAC guidelines.
- Demonstrated commitment to the provision of a client focussed and cost-effective laboratory service.
