Your new role:
This Urology Principal house officer position is suited to someone interested in applying for advanced training for urology in the near future. The position is within the urology department of the Princess Alexandra Hospital which is a major tertiary referral centre. The expectation is that the applicant has had exposure to urology preferably at a Principal house officer level, but at least multiple terms as an intern/JHO/SHO level. The job will entail ward duties, outpatient clinics, theatre and on call duties, like that of a training registrar. There may be some research exposure opportunities available for the successful applicant.
About you:
- Ensure patients and other staff are treated fairly and with mutual respect and understanding, regardless of cultural, religious, ethnic and linguistic backgrounds.
- Lead and manage staff by fostering and committing to patient safety and quality in the delivery of health care by maintaining and evaluating safety and quality practices and initiatives.
- To provide ethical decision making in the achievement of organisational goals provide inpatient outpatient care by assessing patients, determining and instigating appropriate investigation
- Establish management plan for patients in consultation with the consultant

The Princess Alexandra Hospital (PAH) is a tertiary health care centre providing care in most major adult specialties. We provide world class health care to Brisbane City's southern suburbs across emergency, medical, mental health and surgical services, including liver and kidney transplant.
We are nationally recognised for our expertise in trauma management and organ transplants and are one of Australia's leading academic and research health centres. The PAH as a major medical research precinct hosts Australia's most advanced medical research facility, the Translational Research Institute (TRI) as well as a new Clinical Research Facility for the discoveries made at TRI to be trialed in a safe clinical environment.
We're expanding our hospital to make sure everyone gets the care they need. We're adding more beds, modernising our buildings, and improving our spaces to treat kidney and cancer patients with all new services and facilities planned to open by 2027.
