About us:
Mossman Multi-Purpose Health Service provides emergency, general medical, clinical and diagnostic services, x-ray, ultrasound, and pharmacy all available onsite. The hospital has 24 inpatient beds, 9 dialysis chairs and 8 residential aged care beds. Mossman offers a rich scope of practice and the opportunity to work closely with a multidisciplinary team dedicated to improving health outcomes for local communities, including First Peoples.
The facility is a charming Spanish Mission-style building dating back to the 1930s. Mossman township is located approximately 1.5 hours drive north of Cairns and within a 20-minute drive of Port Douglas. Mossman offers a fantastic base from which to explore hiking tracks, mountain bike trails, World Heritage-listed rainforest, and the nearby Mossman Gorge.
About your new role:
In your new role you will……
- Deliver comprehensive, evidence‑based clinical care—managing acute presentations, chronic disease, health promotion, and continuity of care for individuals and families.
- Play a key role in supervising and mentoring junior doctors and students, supporting the development of future rural clinicians.
- Contribute as a team member providing high quality medical services to individual patients as well as population health services to the local community.
As a Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service employee, not only will you receive competitive base salary up to $274,678 per annum full time (L18 – L27) or up to $216,643 per annum full time (L13 – L18), you will also have access to:
- Generous superannuation (up to 12.75%)
- Attraction & retention allowance (up to 45% of base salary)
- Inaccessibility incentive allowance ($13,800 per annum full time 100% paid after 12 months service)
