Your new role:

As a senior nursing and operational leader, you will provide strategic, professional and operational leadership across a complex, multidisciplinary primary healthcare service.

You will:

  • Lead and manage clinical services, workforce, and facility operations to ensure safe, high-quality care
  • Drive innovation, service improvement and contemporary models of care
  • Partner with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, Elders and stakeholders to improve health outcomes
  • Provide expert advice to executive leadership on nursing practice, governance and service delivery
  • Oversee financial, workforce and resource management, ensuring effective and sustainable service delivery

This role has operational responsibility for approximately 18 FTE, with broader professional leadership across 62 FTE, and plays a key role in shaping clinical and corporate governance across the service.

You will demonstrate:

  • Senior nursing leadership experience in complex healthcare environments
  • Expertise in clinical and corporate governance, service planning and performance management
  • Strong capability in leading multidisciplinary teams and driving service improvement
  • Experience in delivering culturally responsive healthcare and engaging with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
  • Advanced communication, stakeholder engagement and change management skills
  • A commitment to values-based leadership and person-centred care

The Southern Queensland Centre of Excellence, based at Inala, delivers integrated, culturally appropriate care through:

  • Inala Indigenous Health Service (GP, nursing, allied health and specialist clinics)
  • Mums and Bubs program
  • Integrated Mental Health and Substance Use Services
  • Outreach services supporting clients within community settings

The service works closely with community, Elders and research partners to improve health equity and outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
