Metro North Health is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Staff Specialist in Palliative Care to join our multidisciplinary team at Redcliffe Hospital. This role offers the opportunity to provide high-quality, patient-centred palliative and supportive care across inpatient, outpatient, and consultation settings within a growing and innovative health service.

About the role

As a Staff Specialist – Palliative Care, you will deliver specialist clinical services to patients requiring palliative and supportive care across the continuum of care. This includes management of inpatients within the Palliative Care Unit, hospital consultation services, outpatient clinics, and participation in multidisciplinary team meetings.

You will work collaboratively with medical, nursing, allied health, and community partners to ensure high-quality care for patients and families, while supporting service development, clinical governance, education, and research within the department.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

• Provide specialist clinical services to outpatients in dedicated clinics for Palliative Care and in other ambulatory clinics as referred by treating teams to the Service.
• Provide a consultancy service at multidisciplinary team conferences to provide expert advice related to the management of patients requiring palliative and supportive care, eg. Medical Oncology.
• Participate in Palliative Care Unit clinical audits and clinical meetings.
• Participate in Model of Care developments and implementation.
