About us:

Rockhampton Hospital Medical Records Department, a vital hub of health information located on the ground floor of the Medical Services Building (MSB). As a key member of our team, you will join a high-energy, 24/7 service dedicated to supporting the health journeys of our community.

We take pride in being a fast-paced department where every task directly impacts patient care. Your role will be essential in ensuring the seamless storage and distribution of medical records, providing our clinical staff with the accurate information they need to deliver the best possible outcomes for our consumers at any hour of the day or night.

About the role:

What you'll be doing:

  • Be the go-to behind the scenes, keeping the Medical Records Department running smoothly in this 24/7 role, and deliver top-notch customer service every step of the way.
  • Jump into a fast-paced admin role - answering calls, supporting reception, managing documents, and keeping things organised (think scanning, stock, correspondence and more).
  • Bring your tech skills to life with accurate data entry, basic word processing, and spreadsheets that keep everything on track.
  • Track down and manage medical records across inpatient, outpatient, emergency and research areas - because the right information at the right time matters.
  • Pitch in where it counts, supporting your team to hit deadlines and keep priorities moving.
  • Connect, communicate and collaborate, working confidently with a multidisciplinary team while delivering great patient-focused service, even when things get busy.
  • Navigate key Queensland Health and CQHHS systems like a pro to keep information flowing and services running seamlessly.

About you:

What you bring to the role:

  • Be tech-savvy and confident navigating computerised clinical systems and databases with ease.
  • Show off your organisational chops with sharp numerical filing skills - think Terminal Digit Filing System on point!
  • Know your way around Information Privacy and Release of Information like a pro, keeping sensitive data secure.
  • Thrive both independently and as a team player, helping the department hit its goals while keeping the workflow smooth.
  • Stay on top of priorities and roll with the punches—flexible workload management is key.
  • Be ready to move! This role is physically active, with plenty of ladder climbing and trolley manoeuvring to keep things running efficiently.

What we offer:

Total monthly remuneration value of up to $7,058 p.m. is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $39.98 – $44.46 p.h.
  • An hourly rate between $49.97 - $55.57 p.h. (Including 25% casual loading)
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading (Not applicable for casual employment)
