The role:
Reporting to the Program Director, we are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to take on the role of Project Director for ICT infrastructure projects associated with new, expanded, and refurbished health facilities. This critical leadership role is pivotal in delivering successful programs that inspire confidence, enhance transparency, and empower teams. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the operational environment within health facilities, and the essential role ICT plays in supporting healthcare delivery.
Experience in leading teams to deliver the end-to-end digital scope in building construction projects, covering concept stage, schematic design, detailed design, implementation, and handover, is highly regarded. A key aspect of the role will involve collaborating with stakeholders, providing strategic direction for the digital scope, and ensuring that all project deliverables meet the operational and clinical needs of healthcare services.

Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading the digital scope of complex and high-risk ICT infrastructure projects, ensuring successful delivery through a defined engagement and work packages.
- Providing expert advice and strategic input to ensure digital deliverables meet quality standards and align with the operational needs of healthcare facilities.
- Ensuring projects are managed in accordance with best practice guidelines and Queensland Health's formal project management (PM) approach and methodologies.
- Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective communication, engagement, and alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
- Monitoring and reporting on digital project progress, including tracking performance against plans, budgets, and key milestones.
- Identifying and addressing risks, issues and dependencies related to the digital scope for ICT Infrastructure projects to ensure successful outcomes.
- Developing timely and relevant written submissions, briefs, presentations, and information papers for project stakeholders.
Are you right for this role?
This role requires extensive experience leading large scale, complex and high-risk IM/ICT projects throughout the project lifecycle, achieving successful outcomes. You will have high level knowledge and application of appropriate project management methodologies (preferably PRINCE2), which is essential for your success in this role.
Your well-developed negotiation and communication skills will enable you to effectively negotiate and liaise with both internal and external stakeholders across Queensland Health. You will also be experienced in putting together strategies, frameworks and plans to enable informed decision making on project issues.
