What your day could look like

In this role, you'll make a real difference for people needing palliative care by helping them maintain dignity, comfort and connection. You'll work closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver thoughtful, evidence‑informed support that enhances quality of life.

Every day, you'll contribute by:

  • Providing advanced clinical care that supports people to live well throughout their palliative journey.
  • Working collaboratively with families, carers and colleagues to guide decisions and improve outcomes.
  • Leading service improvements that strengthen how occupational therapy is delivered across the care continuum.
  • Sharing your expertise to build capability in others and support a culture of learning and innovation.

Let's Talk About You

You're someone who brings both heart and expertise to your work. You think deeply, act with integrity and communicate with clarity, especially when supporting people through complex and emotional moments. You take pride in shaping services that honour dignity, foster connection and create better experiences for patients and families. You're motivated not just by clinical excellence, but by the chance to make a meaningful impact every day.

Here's what will help you thrive in this role:

  • Tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy and current AHPRA registration.
  • Strong experience delivering complex clinical care, ideally within palliative or end‑of‑life settings.
  • High‑level communication skills and the ability to collaborate across diverse teams and situations.
  • Confidence leading service improvements and applying evidence‑based practice.

You'll stand out if you have experience in regional health settings and/or additional training in palliative care, leadership or advanced clinical practice.

Most importantly, you're passionate about supporting people with compassion, courage and innovation—values that guide everything we do at Darling Downs Health. This role is your opportunity to shape care that truly matters.
