What your day could look like
As a Clinical Nurse – Adult Community Mental Health, you'll play a vital role in strengthening mental health care across the Darling Downs region. By supporting people in their own communities, you'll help reduce hospital admissions, promote recovery, and improve quality of life through compassionate, coordinated care.
Every day, you'll contribute by:
- Partnering with consumers to assess needs, plan care and support recovery journeys in community settings
- Working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team and local services to deliver coordinated, holistic care
- Applying advanced clinical judgement to manage complex presentations and support safe, effective outcomes
- Leading by example through evidence‑based practice, quality improvement and positive team contribution
Let's talk about you!
You're someone who leads with compassion and confidence, bringing both clinical expertise and genuine care to your practice. You're comfortable working autonomously, thrive in collaborative settings, and feel proud knowing your work supports recovery, dignity and hope. You're not just delivering care — you're building trust, strengthening connections and creating positive change for individuals and communities.
Here's what will help you thrive in this role:
- Current registration (or eligibility) as a Registered Nurse with the NMBA
- Experience delivering community‑based adult mental health care or case management
- Strong clinical judgement, risk assessment skills and recovery‑focused practice
- A collaborative mindset with the ability to communicate clearly across teams
You'll stand out from the crowd if you have postgraduate mental health qualifications, credentialing in mental health nursing, and/or experience working in rural or regional settings.
Above all, you'll bring the values we live by at Darling Downs Health — Compassion, Integrity, Dignity, Innovation and Courage — and use them to make a lasting impact through community mental health care.
