What your day could look like
As a Registered Midwife, you'll play a vital role in supporting women and families through pregnancy, birth and early parenting. From providing safe, individualised care to working closely with colleagues across maternity services, you'll contribute to positive experiences and outcomes that truly matter to the Warwick community.
Every day, you'll contribute by:
- Supporting women through antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care with a strong focus on safety, trust and informed choice
- Partnering with families and multidisciplinary teams to deliver culturally safe, woman‑centred care
- Using contemporary evidence and clinical judgement to guide decisions and improve care experiences
- Sharing knowledge, mentoring others and contributing to a supportive learning environment
Let's talk about you!
You're a midwife who brings skill, compassion and confidence to every interaction. You value dignity and integrity, think critically in complex situations, and take pride in supporting women to feel heard, respected and empowered. You're not just providing care — you're shaping meaningful experiences for families at some of life's most important moments.
Here's what will help you thrive in this role:
- Registration or eligibility for registration as a Registered Midwife in Australia
- Proven ability to deliver safe, evidence‑based midwifery care across the continuum
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a calm and thoughtful approach
- A commitment to ongoing learning, reflection and quality improvement
You'll stand out if you have postgraduate study relevant to maternity care and/or experience working in regional or rural settings.
Most importantly, you'll bring the values we live by at Darling Downs Health — compassion, integrity, dignity, innovation and courage — and use them every day to improve care for women, babies and families.
This role offers the chance to build trusted relationships and create lasting impact in a regional community that truly values midwifery care.
