About us:
Nutrition and Dietetics delivers comprehensive clinical nutrition services to adult and paediatric patients, integrating clinical care, education, research, and quality improvement to optimise health and wellbeing.
Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service (CQHHS) provides care across the lifespan, supporting patients during hospital admission, recovery, and through specialist outpatient services. The team also delivers a Home Enteral Nutrition Service and partners with food services across hospitals, Multipurpose Health Services, and residential aged care to ensure high-quality, patient-centred nutrition.
Dietitians work across hospital and community settings in Gladstone, Biloela, Emerald, Capricorn Coast, and Rockhampton, contributing to multidisciplinary care, clinical leadership, and service development. The service also supports student placements across clinical, community, food service, and research areas.
About the role:
- Deliver advanced, independent nutrition and dietetics care across a broad range of patient needs, ensuring high standards of professional and ethical practice across the care continuum.
- Provide strategic and operational clinical leadership, including supervision, mentoring, and training of Dietitians, clinical assistants, student dietitians, and other health professionals, while creating a continuous learning and research culture.
- Provide strategic clinical leadership in food services across CQHHS by aligning practices with organisational key performance indicators, and support of clinicians at all sites in the development of evidence-based food service practices,
- Actively participate in state‑wide networks to advance the profession and contribute to the development of clinical services.
- Lead quality improvement and research initiatives, including the identification, development, and implementation of evidence‑based activities, outcome measurement, and reporting, with a focus on translating findings into service innovation and continuous improvement of care delivery.
- This position incorporates all the role requirements of lower level clinical positions within the Nutrition and Dietetics service.
About you:
- Possession of a recognised tertiary qualification in Nutrition and Dietetics, and eligibility for full membership with the Dietitians Australia (DA), and maintenance of Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) status.
- The successful applicant must participate in and ensure compliance with credentialing and defining scope of clinical practice processes for Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service (CQHHS).
- While not mandatory, a postgraduate qualification consistent with a senior leadership role is highly desirable.
- Apply advanced knowledge and skills in specialised domains of nutrition and dietetics.
What we offer:
Total remuneration value of up to $172,615 p.a. is comprised of:
- An hourly rate between $73.12 - $76.30 p.h.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
- 17.5% leave loading
