About your opportunity

This position will deliver high level clinical social work services and act as a resource/advisory person in the area of Rehabilitation within the Townsville Hospital and Health Service.

This position will exercise day-to-day leadership to a team of social workers and work closely within a multidisciplinary environment.
This is a temporary part-time role - 13/12/2026, working 22.8 hours per fortnight. PLEASE NOTE - There is a possiblity of an extension - not exceeding 12 months.
Role Responsiblities
- Undertake high level social work duties exercising independent professional judgement in managing a complex clinical caseload with infrequent need for direct clinical practice supervision.
- Act as a resource person in the area of rehabilitation social work providing high level clinical advice to professional and operational supervisors, relevant service managers and other stakeholders regarding service delivery.
- Demonstrate the integration of evidence based practice and well-developed clinical knowledge, skills and understanding of the continuum of care in the delivery of Social Work clinical services to clients with complex needs.
- Contribute to the capacity of the social work service to ensure appropriate levels of resource allocation and service delivery across service streams by participation in relief and after-hours service provision.

Requirements:
- The successful applicant must hold at least a tertiary degree (or equivalent) qualification in social work that provides eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
- Roster: This position may be required to work on-call weekends and public holidays on a rostered basis through the Social Work Department's Clinical On-Call Service. This service requires a thirty-minute response time.
- This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role. Hepatitis B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Tuberculosis.
