Under s25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 (Qld) it is a genuine occupational requirement for the incumbent to be Indigenous to the Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Community.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:

  • High level interpersonal, communication, consultation and negotiation skills and ability to develop effective partnerships within the Health Service and external stakeholders.
  • Cultural lived experience and understanding of the cultural factors and histories that affect the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people today.
  • Ability to provide effective cultural support to First Nations peoples accessing health services.
  • Ability to support multidisciplinary teams to improve their understanding of the Social, Emotional and Well-Being needs of First Nations consumers.

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
