Your Opportunity

We are seeking a versatile all-rounder with experience across events, social media and design.

As the Marketing Officer you will be responsible for:

  • providing a proactive and effective marketing function including online marketing and promotion coordination to support operational marketing requirements and enhance the image of the East Coast region.

This position reports to the Manager, Marketing and Sales.

We have two (2) opportunities available:

  • 1 x Marketing Officer - Temporary Full-time to 21/08/2026 unless otherwise determined.  
  • 1 x Marketing Officer - Temporary Full-time for a period of 12 months unless otherwise determined.  

Both positions can be based at any campus within the TAFE Queensland East Coast region however you may be required to perform work at other TAFE Queensland campuses.  

Key Responsibilities

  • Model and actively promote an ethical and safe work environment that supports the culture of zero harm and best practice regarding health, safety, wellness and sustainability.
  • Facilitate a comprehensive range of media, marketing and promotional activities including conceptualising, input into design and implementing strategies, within departmental guidelines. 
  • Identify, develop and implement online, e-marketing and social media activities to complement marketing campaigns, events and student journey activity. 
  • Provide support to the marketing team on keeping up to date with online marketing strategies and opportunities. 
  • Negotiate, consult and liaise with internal and external clients on a variety of media and marketing issues. 
  • Analyse and interpret marketing and promotional policies, protocols and guides. 
  • Maintain the strategic focus of the region’s business and its environment, by analysing and identifying marketing and community trends to identify opportunities for continuous improvement to ensure maximum revenue potential for the region. 
  • Undertake a diverse range of administrative tasks relating to delivering quality promotional material and events and regularly review and evaluate marketing strategies. 
  • Undertake research on marketing trends, local demographic and growth areas in the East Coast region. 
  • Ensure day to day activities align with business operations. 
  • Contribute to improvement in business processes and practices. 
  • Contribute to the success of transformation and cultural change through promoting and modelling the established values of Safety First, Working Together, Showing Initiative, Focussing on our Customer and Taking Responsibility.

How you will be assessed

The ideal applicant will be someone who has the following key capabilities:

  1. Ability to innovatively conceptualise marketing and promotional material within departmental guidelines. 
  2. Proven record of high achievement in the implementation of promotional campaigns and marketing strategies. 
  3. Take personal responsibility for accurately completing work, both independently and within a team, in order to meet project goals and team priorities.
  4. Builds and sustains positive relationships with team members, clients and stakeholders through strong interpersonal, communication, consultation and negotiation skills.
  5. High level organisation skills, including the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines. 
  6. Displays the initiative, attitude and ability to thrive within a dynamic, challenging and changing environment.

Mandatory Qualifications/Requirements

  • There are no mandatory requirements for this role.

Highly Desirable Requirements

  • A tertiary qualification in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications or related discipline.
