About the Team
The Motility service is part of the broader Gastroenterology, Hepatology & Liver Transplant service (GHLT) service, that sits within the Division of Surgery & Perioperative Services. It is a comprehensive state-wide consultant-led service that works with a broader multidisciplinary team of allied health practitioners, nurses, and medical teams and provides care and support to children and young people experiencing a range of gastrointestinal motility issues.
The collective GHLT service is made up of specialty services providing care and support to children and young people requiring investigation and management of gastrointestinal and/or liver disease. Inclusive of Mucosal Immunology, Hepatology and Liver Transplant care, there are expert-led services supporting Neuro-gastroenterology and Motility, Nutritional and Intestinal Rehabilitation (inclusive of home Parental Nutrition) and General Gastroenterology.
About the Role
The Clinical Nurse (CN) role provides advanced clinical care and problem-solving skills, expert planning and coordination skills in the management of paediatric patients with gastrointestinal motility complex care needs. This role will include care of patients undergoing motility procedures and investigations such as colonic manometry, antroduodenal manometry (ADM) and oesophageal manometry. This role works within the multi-disciplinary healthcare team and is pivotal in the planning, managing and delivering of paediatric motility specialist nursing care. The CN provides clinical leadership and advanced clinical practice while participating in education and research for the motility service. Fostering a culture of collaboration in within the team, we aim to optimise outcomes for children and young people with gastrointestinal motility conditions.
