About the role

As a key member of the Information Access Unit, the Senior Information Access Officer will exercise their authority to make decisions on access to information applications made under the Right to Information Act 2009 (RTI Act) and the Information Privacy Act 2009 (IP Act).

What we're looking for

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:

  • Extensive knowledge and experience interpreting and applying legislation and providing advice relating to RTI and IP access
  • Comprehensive experience and skills associated with the application of exemptions under the RTI and IP
  • Demonstrated experience in dealing with complex applications, including facilitating, consulting, and negotiating with applicants to further define their
  • Proven ability to coordinate information gathering, source information from multiple locations and undertake quality reviews of
  • Proven ability to proactively plan, prioritise tasks, monitor progress, work independently, manage time to meet deadlines, and contribute to teams'
  • High level oral and written communication skills, including the ability to provide advice to stakeholders and prepare written material including decision writing in a clear, concise and articulate
  • High level interpersonal and consultation skills and demonstrated ability to build and sustain relationships with team members, employees at all levels, and external
