Your new role:

This role provides specialist psychiatry the Intellectual and Developmental Disability (IDD) support and clinical care to patients across inpatient and community settings and assumes overall responsibility for patient care.  Services provided include:

  • Provides specialist services at Metro South Hospital and Health Service,
  • Provides inpatient care, including participating in the on-call roster
  • Undertakes elective and/or emergency surgery / procedures
  • Provides inpatient consultations as requested
  • Provides outpatient consultations
  • Participates in multidisciplinary clinics and meetings
  • Supervision and teaching of registrars, junior doctors and medical students, and teaching for other members of the multidisciplinary team
  • Participation and or leadership of research and quality improvement activities

About you:

Being a practitioner in the field of Intellectual and Developmental Disability.

Have demonstrated further professional development in the field of Intellectual and Developmental Disability. This may be achieved through self-guided learning as part of a professional development plan or through completion of a training program.
