About us:
Central Queensland Mental Health Alcohol and Other Drugs Service delivers specialist care across a vast region, supporting communities from Rockhampton to Yeppoon, Gladstone, Biloela, Moura, Woorabinda and the Central Highlands, reaching more than 250,000 people.
Rockhampton is the principal service centre for this area and as such provides the medical coverage, professional supervision, and administration of the Mental Health Act, 2016, support for accreditation and implementation of programs as well as acute inpatient facilities for the Central Queensland Mental Health teams. With the Inpatient Unit, Older Persons Unit and Acute Care Team all based at Rockhampton Hospital, you'll be part of a connected, high-impact service making a real difference across Central Queensland every day.
About the role:
Join the Prison Mental Health Service and support consumers both in custody and as they transition back into the community by managing a varied caseload, deliver assessments and targeted interventions, using your clinical skills to help set recovery in motion. Working closely with correctional staff and forensic teams you will keep care connected with community partners - because strong collaboration is the key to unlocking better outcomes.
You will build relationships, support safe transitions, and help create pathways that don't just open doors, they will change futures. You will conduct intake assessment, psychosocial assessments and provide appropriate interventions to a caseload of clients to support the transition. Every day will bring variety, teamwork, and the chance to make your mark beyond the walls.
About you:
To be successful in this role, you must hold qualifications and registration with the appropriate registration authority to practice in any of the following:
- Occupational Therapy
- Psychology
- Social Work
- Registered Nurse
While not mandatory, eligibility for appointment as an Authorised Mental Health Practitioner under the Mental Health Act 2016 would be highly desirable.
What we offer:
Total remuneration value of up to $135,857 p.a. is comprised of:
- An hourly rate between $56.08 - $60.05 p.h.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
