Your new role:
As a Director Suppoort Officer within the Nursing Workforce team, you will provide high-level, confidential administrative and secretarial support to senior staff. Working with a high degree of autonomy, you'll play a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the unit while maintaining strong communication across multidisciplinary teams.
In this role, you will:
- Provide executive and secretarial support to senior leaders
- Manage diaries, appointments, meetings, and minutes
- Coordinate workflows and prioritise tasks to meet deadlines
- Act as the primary point of contact for communications
- Support recruitment activities including interview coordination
- Assist with payroll, rostering, and workforce administration (IWFM)
- Maintain records and manage correspondence to a high standard
- Liaise across teams to ensure efficient service delivery
- Contribute to a respectful, inclusive, and safe workplace
About you:
You are a proactive and highly organised professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can work independently while maintaining strong attention to detail.
You will demonstrate:
- Ability to work autonomously and use initiative effectively
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Excellent organisational and time management abilities
- High-level communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven experience in administrative and secretarial support
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
- Experience with systems such as S4Hana, IWFM, MyHR (desirable)
- High-quality minute-taking and documentation skills
- A commitment to continuous improvement and service excellence

The Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Hospital (QEII) is a medium metropolitan adult facility providing a range of inpatient and outpatient services including a 24-hour Emergency Department. We provide a range of services, including surgery, cardiology, endoscopy, orthopaedics, gynaecology, urology, geriatric, respiratory and emergency medicine.
We're making our hospital bigger and better to make it easier for our growing community to get the health care they need. We'll have more beds, medical wards and expanded intensive care and emergency services planned to be opened by 2027.
