This role provides strategic leadership and expert advice on biosafety, biosecurity and biorisk governance across Public and Environmental Health laboratories. The position leads the development and implementation of governance frameworks, regulatory compliance and risk management strategies to ensure safe laboratory practices, staff safety and organisational compliance with national and international standards.

 

What you'll do

In this role you will lead the development and implementation of biorisk governance frameworks, provide high-level advice on biosafety and biosecurity compliance, lead incident response and risk management activities, oversee audits and quality systems, and work with internal and external stakeholders to strengthen biosafety capability and organisational compliance.

 

About you

We are searching for someone who:

  • Holds a postgraduate qualification in a science related field
  • Has experience working in biosafety, biosecurity or high-containment laboratory environments
  • Has experience in governance, risk management and regulatory compliance
  • Has strong stakeholder engagement and leadership skills
