What your day could look like
As a Registered Nurse, you'll play a vital role in supporting the health, independence and wellbeing of residents while strengthening outcomes across the local community. From delivering evidence‑based care to mentoring others and improving practice, your work will have real, visible impact in a supportive rural environment.
Every day, you'll contribute by:
- Providing holistic, person‑centred nursing care that enhances residents' quality of life and clinical outcomes
- Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary colleagues to support safe, coordinated and responsive care
- Using sound clinical judgement to manage risk, uphold quality standards and drive continuous improvement
- Supporting and guiding colleagues through role modelling, knowledge sharing and leadership on shift
Let's talk about you!
You're someone who brings skill and heart to everything you do. You value strong relationships, act with integrity, and take pride in delivering care that respects each person's dignity. You're calm under pressure, thoughtful in your decisions, and motivated by seeing residents and teams thrive together. Most of all, you're proud of the difference you make in people's lives and the trust placed in you as a nurse.
Here's what will help you thrive in this role:
- Current registration (or eligibility) as a Registered Nurse in Australia
- Experience delivering evidence‑based nursing care, ideally in aged care or a similar setting
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- A commitment to professional development, quality improvement and safe clinical practice
You'll stand out from the crowd if you have experience in rural or residential aged care settings and/or postgraduate study in aged care.
Above all, you'll bring the values we live by at Darling Downs Health: Compassion, Integrity, Dignity, Innovation and Courage—using them to shape care, strengthen teams and support a community that genuinely values what you do.
This role is about delivering care you can be proud of, while building healthier communities through values‑led nursing.
