What your day could look like
As a Clinical Nurse Consultant – Clinical Governance, you'll play a key role in strengthening how care is delivered, measured and improved for patients and communities across Darling Downs Health. From shaping governance systems to partnering with clinicians and leaders, your work will directly support safer, more reliable care and a culture of continuous improvement.
Every day, you'll contribute by:
- Leading meaningful quality and safety initiatives that reduce risk and improve patient outcomes
- Partnering with clinical and executive teams to embed strong governance, accreditation readiness and best practice
- Guiding services to turn data, incidents and reviews into practical improvements that stick
- Building capability through mentoring, education and collaboration that empowers teams to do their best work
Let's talk about you!
You're someone who brings both expertise and heart to your work. You see the bigger picture, stay grounded in values, and know how to influence change with compassion, integrity and courage. You take pride in helping teams deliver care they can stand behind, knowing your leadership contributes to safer systems, better experiences and stronger outcomes for patients and staff alike. You're not here to tick boxes — you're here to create lasting impact.
Here's what will help you thrive in this role:
- Current registration (or eligibility) as a Registered Nurse, with relevant clinical governance experience
- Strong knowledge of healthcare quality, safety and improvement frameworks
- Confidence leading, influencing and collaborating across diverse clinical and professional teams
- Clear, thoughtful communication and a commitment to learning and improvement
You'll stand out from the crowd if you have postgraduate study or experience leading service‑wide quality or accreditation initiatives.
Above all, you'll bring the values we live by at Darling Downs Health: compassion, integrity, dignity, innovation and courage — and the drive to translate them into everyday practice.
This is a role where your leadership shapes safer care today and a stronger health service for tomorrow.
