Your new role:

As a Principal House Officer (PHO)/ Registrar, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality patient care across inpatient and outpatient services within a busy and evolving Obstetrics and Gynaecology department, working under the guidance of experienced consultants. In this role, you will:

  • Provide clinical care across Birth Suite, Acute Gynaecology, outpatient clinics and surgical lists
  • Assess, diagnose and manage patients, including those referred from Emergency and other units
  • Develop and implement management plans in collaboration with consultants and multidisciplinary teams
  • Perform procedures in line with your level of training and experience
  • Supervise and support junior medical staff and contribute to their development
  • Participate in rostered shifts including evenings, weekends and on-call
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure effective communication and handover
  • Engage in teaching, audits, research and continuous quality improvement initiatives

About you:

You are a motivated and capable medical practitioner with a passion for women's health and a commitment to delivering safe, high-quality care in a fast-paced environment. You will demonstrate:

  • Current registration as a Medical Practitioner with the Medical Board of Australia
  • Experience in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (minimum 12 months highly regarded)
  • Ability to manage a busy birth suite with appropriate supervision
  • Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic and procedural skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with patients and multidisciplinary teams
  • Effective time management, prioritisation and resilience under pressure
  • Commitment to continuous learning, education and professional development
  • A collaborative, team-focused approach with high standards of professionalism and integrity

Logan Hospital is the major health centre for one of the fastest growing areas in Queensland. We offer a range of services, including medical, rehabilitation, maternity, surgical and paediatric care.

We offer our staff and students extensive support and training in most medical specialties. As a teaching hospital, we help train future health care professionals and participate in research through strong partnerships with Queensland's leading medical schools, universities, and TAFE Queensland.
