About the role

Reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager, Operating Theatres, you will work closely with colleagues across the Surgical Service Line to support patients throughout the perioperative journey. As a Nurse Grade 5 Registered Nurse, you will demonstrate sound clinical judgement, growing professional autonomy and strong problem‑solving skills within the anaesthetic environment.

Your role will involve the application of comprehensive nursing assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation to deliver patient‑centred care, including the ability to respond effectively to sudden changes in patient condition. You will support teaching and education for patients and families, contribute to an evidence‑based learning culture, and actively participate in professional development, quality improvement initiatives and ethical decision‑making.

You will practise in accordance with NMBA standards, relevant legislation, organisational policies and Metro North Health values, while working collaboratively with the interprofessional healthcare team to maintain a safe, respectful and inclusive clinical environment.

About you

  • Consult with others in delegation activities, and contribution to effective clinical care outcomes and the maintenance of a safe environment.
