Capricornia Offender Health Service (COHS) delivers healthcare to offenders within the Capricornia Correctional Centre and Farm, supporting a population of approximately 650 (and growing). Operating within a secure environment, our service provides primary, chronic and preventative care through a multidisciplinary model.

About the role:

This is a senior leadership role responsible for the strategic and operational direction of COHS. You'll lead nursing services, oversee clinical and corporate governance, and drive service improvement initiatives across the correctional health setting.

You'll work closely with internal teams, executive leadership and external partners—including Queensland Corrective Services—to coordinate care delivery and strengthen service models. From workforce leadership and resource management to policy development and system improvement, you'll play a key role in shaping how healthcare is delivered in this unique environment.

About you:

You're an experienced and confident leader who thrives in complex environments. You bring strong clinical credibility, strategic thinking and the ability to influence across multiple stakeholders.

You'll demonstrate:

  • Proven leadership in nursing and healthcare service delivery
  • Strong understanding of clinical governance, quality and safety frameworks
  • Ability to manage people, resources and service performance at a senior level
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills
  • A commitment to improving outcomes for vulnerable and diverse populations

What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $210,050 p.a. is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate of $92.84 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
