About the role

The Clinical Coder role offers the opportunity to work collaboratively across multiple facilities, engaging with clinicians, coding colleagues and health information professionals to resolve documentation gaps and contribute to continuous improvement in data quality. • Identify and assess potential improvements in documentation including appropriateness of the admission type (acute verses sub and non-acute), clarity of diagnosis, interpretation of results and performing CDQs to optimise DRG assignment for ABF.
  • Proactively and independently maintain an up-to-date knowledge of clinical coding, state and national coding advice, and ABF trends and developments.
  • Contribute to coding education meetings (agenda, items for discussion, follow-up actions etc.) and attendance at specialist clinical classification seminars/educational forums to further improve knowledge and skills.
