About the Team

As part of the Allied Health Service, the QCH Physiotherapy Department is a tertiary paediatric service providing high level care, based on evidence-based practice and international standards of care. Advanced clinicians are available in all physiotherapy teams, whilst supervision and governance are underpinned by the National Safety and Quality Healthcare Standards. Subspecialty teams provide patient-centred management, tailored to the child and family's unique needs that can be delivered in outpatient, day patient, inpatient, outreach and telehealth settings.

Participation and leadership within statewide clinical networks are integral to clinical, educational, research and digital commitments. The Physiotherapy Department provides undergraduate and post graduate education and clinical experience for physiotherapy programs in six Queensland universities. Workshops, seminars and courses are delivered nationally and internationally, in addition to attendances and presentations at conferences worldwide.

About the Role

The position of Physio Clinical Leader Oncology/ Neurosciences/ Specialties will:

  • Deliver advanced level physiotherapy clinical and consultancy services within the oncology, neurosciences and specialties stream of the Queensland Children's Hospital and Children's Health Queensland Hospital and Health Service.
  • Provide clinical leadership and oversight of the physiotherapy oncology, specialities and neuroscience streams to coordinate the delivery of clinical services and to develop and maintain clinical excellence and high standards of care.
  • This position maintains a significant clinical caseload of inpatients and outpatients with predominantly complex paediatric conditions presenting to the oncology, neurosciences and specialties care environment.
