Your new role:

As a Registered Nurse in Ward 6B Acute Cognitive Unit, you will deliver safe, compassionate, and evidence-based care while working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to achieve the best outcomes for patients with complex cognitive and geriatric needs, by:

  • Providing high-quality, person-centred nursing care across a 12-bed acute cognitive unit
  • Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care for patients with conditions such as dementia, delirium, and functional decline
  • Collaborating with medical, nursing and allied health teams to support holistic patient outcomes
  • Supporting safe care delivery through adherence to clinical standards, policies, and quality frameworks
  • Contributing to education, mentorship, and continuous improvement within the unit
  • Demonstrating clinical leadership and accountability, including delegation and team coordination when required

About you:

You are a compassionate and motivated Registered Nurse with a genuine interest in cognitive and geriatric care, who thrives in a collaborative and evolving clinical environment, with:

  • Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) as a Registered Nurse
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality, person-centred care and sound clinical decision-making
  • Experience or a strong interest in dementia, delirium, and geriatric patient care
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and evidence-based practice
  • Ability to prioritise, adapt, and respond to changing clinical environments

Logan Hospital is the major health centre for one of the fastest growing areas in Queensland. We offer a range of services, including medical, rehabilitation, maternity, surgical and paediatric care.

We offer our staff and students extensive support and training in most medical specialties. As a teaching hospital, we help train future health care professionals and participate in research through strong partnerships with Queensland's leading medical schools, universities, and TAFE Queensland.

Our services will continue to grow as we build bigger and better facilities to support the community. By 2027, we'll have more beds and 5 more birthing suites as part of the Logan Hospital expansion.
