Hughenden Multipurpose Health Service is an acute facility with 24-hour emergency and general medical care, with six long-stay nursing home-type beds. Hughenden is situated on the banks of the Flinders, Queensland's longest river, and approximately halfway between Townsville and Mount Isa. Competitive salary and benefits:

We offer attractive remuneration packages and generous leave entitlements.

  • Salary range: $35.04 to $36.73 p.h (OO3)
  • 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading
  • 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation
  • Plus Salary Sacrificing options may be available

About your opportunity

The position will be responsible for working with the operational service staff and production and distribution of meals for Hughenden Multipurpose Health Service.

Requirements:

Mandatory qualifications and proof of registration

  • Although not mandatory a relevant trade qualification in cooking or previous experience in a similar role would be desirable. Possession of /or willingness to undertake studies leading to, a Food Safety Supervisors Certificate within three (3) months of commencement would be highly desirable.
  • National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Worker Screening Check: As a Health Care worker in Queensland Health who engages in risk-assessed roles, you must hold a current disability check (Yellow Card or Yellow Card Exemption) or an NDIS worker screening check, in accordance with Part 5 of the Disability Services Act 2006 (Qld).
  • Drivers Licence: This position requires the incumbent to operate a class C motor vehicle and an appropriate licence endorsement to operate this vehicle is required.
  • This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role.
