Role details

The Research Support Unit at the Mackay Base Hospital is seeking applications for a Clinical Trials Nurse (Clinical Nurse) to join their team on a temporary basis.

Your opportunity

The Clinical Trials Nurse (Nurse Grade 6) Provides advanced clinical, coordination and leadership support for the safe and ethical conduct of clinical trials at MHHS.

This role functions autonomously within the scope of professional nursing practice, providing expert clinical trial nursing care, coordinating complex research activities, ensuring participant safety, maintaining regulatory compliance, and supporting Principal Investigators (PIs), sponsors, and multidisciplinary teams across portfolio of pharmaceutical, device, investigator-led and collaborative clinical trials.

The Mackay Institute of Research and Innovation is an emerging health service-led translational research and innovation centre, collaborating with a range of external partners, to lead cutting edge research and innovation with the aim of improving health care for our regional communities.

We aim to enable the best possible health outcomes through the translation of research discoveries into better clinical care.

  • Foster collaborative relationships to optimise opportunities for research and innovation.
  • Encourage and support staff and partners to participate in research and innovation.
  • Provide advice and assistance to all staff pursuing clinical research and innovation.
  • Optimise translation of research into clinical practice and health policy.
  • Provide leadership and coordinate research and innovation programs in areas of strategic interest.

About our Hospital and Health Service

Mackay Hospital and Health Service has 6 hospitals, 2 multi-purpose health services and 4 community health centres that employ more than 3,700 staff. The district covers an area of approximately 90,000km2 and provides services to patients and their families in Bowen, Cannonvale, Clermont, Collinsville, Dysart, Glenden, Mackay, Middlemount, Moranbah, Proserpine and Sarina.
