About us:

We are the waitlist wizards! Guided by national standards (ESSIS and all the important acronyms), we deliver safe, efficient, patient-focused care to get both kids and adults ready for elective surgery, without the unnecessary delays.

Behind the scenes, our Elective Surgery Outsourcing Office is where the real magic happens. We manage waitlists, fast-track eligible patients through programs like Surgery Connect, and link them up with private providers to get their surgery done sooner. We screen them carefully, track their entire journey, and make sure they come back into the system for follow-up care.

And while we do follow the rules, we're also here to support, guide, and empower our admin and bookings teams with clinical know-how that keeps everything running like a well-oiled (and fully booked) theatre list.

About the role:

As a Clinical Nurse in Elective Surgery Outsourcing, you're the behind-the-scenes hero making sure patients don't get stuck waiting longer than they should.

You'll use your clinical expertise to hand-pick the right patients for outsourcing to private facilities. Think of yourself as part clinician, part coordinator, part matchmaker, pairing patients with operating theatres. You'll also be the go-to expert for patients on the waitlist, providing guidance, clinical insight, and support to make sure they're ready to go when their time comes.

What you'll be owning day-to-day:

  • Spotting which patients are ready to be fast-tracked through Surgery Connect
  • Reviewing clinical info and assessing risks like a pro
  • Supporting and advocating for patients so they feel informed and prepared
  • Reviewing post-surgery documentation to keep care seamless
  • Driving audits and data reviews to keep everything improving

About you:

  • Bachelor of Nursing (or equivalent) (you've done the hard yards and earned your stripes!)
  • Currently registered with AHPRA.
  • You bring at least 3 years of post-grad experience in an acute or surgical setting, you know your way around the fast-paced, high-stakes world of patient care.
  • You know how to spot issues, investigate when things go off track, and put smart strategies in place to keep patients safe and services running like clockwork.
  • People trust you, learn from you, and genuinely enjoy working with you. You build strong relationships, communicate openly, and make collaboration look easy.
  • You notice when things don't quite match policy, and you take action to fix it. Innovation? Yes please.
  • You've got strong surgical and peri-operative knowledge, can assess and plan care like a pro, and know how to deliver outcomes that make a difference.

What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $139,252 p.a. is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $57.48 - $61.55 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
