Charters Towers Health Service is a 25-bed facility providing integrated acute and primary health care services through a range of programs including: community, child, youth and family, mental health, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health and outreach services.

Competitive salary and benefits:

We offer attractive remuneration packages and generous leave entitlements.

  • Salary range: $87,368 to $112,064 p.a. (PFT) or $44.06 to $56.51 p.h. (PPT) or $55.07 to 70.64 p.h (Casual) (NG5)
  • 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading
  • 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation
  • Plus Salary Sacrificing options may be available
  • Flexible working arrangements available for these positions

About your opportunity

Charters Towers Rehabilitation Unit provides opportunity and support for consumers to regain independence managing their mental illness in the community. Registered nurses work within a multidisciplinary recovery framework, provide mental health nursing practice consistent with the philosophy, goals and objectives of the mental health service, to ensure the provision of best practice and quality patient care.

Requirements:

Mandatory qualifications and proof of registration

  • Qualification: Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent certification relevant to the position is mandatory.
  • Nursing: Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and possession of a current practising certificate
  • Highly Desirable: Possession of or working towards a relevant post-registration and/or tertiary qualifications in mental health nursing.
  • Highly Desirable: Eligibility for appointment as an Authorised Mental Health Practitioner (AMHP) under the Mental Health Act 2016.
  • This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role.
