What your day could look like

As a Nutrition and Dietetics Assistant, you'll play an important role in supporting patients to receive safe, timely and person‑centred nutrition care. From assisting with nutrition screening to contributing to service improvements, your work helps patients feel supported while strengthening the outcomes of the broader care team.

Every day, you'll contribute by:

  • Supporting nutrition assessments and interventions under dietitian guidance to improve patient wellbeing
  • Working collaboratively with dietitians, nurses, food services and allied health teams to deliver seamless care
  • Maintaining accurate records and contributing to quality, safety and nutrition standards
  • Sharing ideas, insights and feedback that improve services and patient experiences

 Let's Talk About You

You're someone who brings care, reliability and pride to everything you do. You value teamwork, understand your scope, and take confidence from supporting others to deliver their best work. You're motivated by helping patients feel heard, nourished and supported, and you find purpose in knowing your contribution matters each day.

Here's what will help you thrive in this role:

  • Experience supporting nutrition, dietetic or allied health services under supervision
  • Strong communication skills and confidence working with patients and multidisciplinary teams
  • The ability to organise your workload, follow processes and adapt in a busy environment
  • A commitment to learning, quality improvement and safe, ethical practice

You'll stand out from the crowd if you have allied health assistant training, nutrition‑related study, or experience in hospital or community health settings.

Above all, you'll bring compassion, integrity, dignity, innovation and courage—helping deliver nutrition care that truly supports people and community wellbeing.

This role makes a meaningful difference to patient recovery while strengthening trusted care across the region.
