The Operating Theatres at Ipswich Hospital consists of 7 Operating Theatres and the Post Anaesthetic Care Unit (PACU) which comprises 16 beds and operates as a 24-hour service 7-days a week – managing adult, obstetric, and paediatric patients. Additionally the Anaesthetic/PACU nursing team support GA MRI patients in Medical Imaging.

About the role
The Registerd Nurse provides contemporary, evidence-based nursing services and demonstrates competence in the provision of nursing care as specified by achievement of the standards of practice and registration requirements from the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA).
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
- Contemporary clinical knowledge in the area of anaesthetic and/or post anaesthetic and anaesthetic nursing, delivering competent nursing care in complex situations while providing support to other team members.
- Ability to comprehensively assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care.
- Ability to provide patient and family centred care to the patient using best practice and within the standard of practice of a RN.
- Ability to communicate to a high standard effectively and engage with members of the healthcare team, patients, relatives and visitors whilst displaying a high level of professional nursing care.
- A commitment to ongoing professional development and contribution to improvement processes.
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships, communication and a positive environment within a multidisciplinary team, contributing to the learning and development of others to a high standard.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
